Caitlin Carlson, LCSW

Caitlin Carlson was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Caitlin earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Minor in Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. While completing her Master of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University, Caitlin gained experience working with children of all ages through her field placements in Therapeutic Day Treatment and School Social Work. Prior to joining Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, Caitlin worked as an Intensive In-Home Clinician, facilitating individual and family therapy, utilizing Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment modalities. Additionally, Caitlin has worked as a Family Support Worker at a Child Development Center, supporting young children and their families through home visits, parent workshops, developmental screenings, collaboration with classroom staff, and individual and group Play Therapy.

Caitlin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist. Caitlin has a special interest in early childhood mental health, parent/child attachment, and life transitions.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys sewing, listening to music, nature walks, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her cats.
